The depth of a person’s understanding and knowledge can be gauged by how well they can explain a concept to others who have no prior knowledge of the subject. To commemorate World Science day, BUD organized a day of popular science lectures. Several of our members gave talks about varied topics ranging from the fundamentals of physics, the use of technology in our daily lives, on demand technology, evolution, diagnostics, philosophy of science to how science is taught in the German school system. As Bengalis we also discussed about famous Bengali scientists and their contribution to science, celebrating out scientific heritage and the birth anniversary of Sir J.C. Bose. It was a refreshing afternoon of discussing science in Bengali. We hope to organize more events of this nature in the future.
