Dresden Sharodutsav 2024

Durga Pujo 2023 was special to us. Ever since we started the pujo in 2019 we had dreamed of recreating the pujo ambience in Dresden with an idol of Ma Durga. This year we managed to realize that dream. Three days of worship, food, laughter, fun, cultural programs and overall a spirit of community was the highlight of our Pujo. We sincerely thank each and every person who worked with us to make this Durga Pujo 2023 a success. Joy ma! Asche bochor abar hobe! Bochor Bochor egiye jabe!

Lakshmi Puja Dresden 2022

Kojagori Purnima falls right after Durga Puja and with it comes Kojagori Lakshmi Puja. To most Bengalis it is the time for family, a celebration of peace and prosperity. We the members of BUD came together as a family to celebrate Lakshmi Puja along with a members’ get together and potluck for one last celebration before our wait for next year’s Durga Puja begins again. May Goddess Lakshmi shower her blessings on everyone.

Shree Shree Durga Puja Dresden 2022

For Bengalis Durga Puja is an emotion that cannot be described in words. It’s the time our daughter comes home and we revel in her presence. Like the last four years BUD celebrated Durga Puja with all its members and the general population of Dresden. After 3 days of festivities we said goodbye to the Goddess but with a promise that she will come back to us next year.

Durga Puja Dresden 2020

The year 2020 brought the world to a standstill with the global COVID-19 pandemic. BUD was able to celebrate Durga Puja albeit with reduced number of people and muted celebrations. We prayed to the Goddess to heal the world so that we can see our loved ones soon.
